New Theme for Dragonchasers!

If you’re reading this via RSS, please come to the site and check out the new theme that WebSiteTaylor created for me. I think she did an absolutely fantastic job and I couldn’t be happier!!

It’s possible some rough spots slipped through, and if so please let us know via a comment. Thanks!

  1. Ohhhh purdy! Though I liked the other one too. I still can’t figure out how to use anything but the (almost all gross) basic wordpress templates w/o hosting the blog myself… which I could do, but I’m not sure I want to.

  2. Looks good… but The Website Taylor’s site loads horribly on Google Chrome. I know no one is using it (except me) but thought she might want to know.

  3. Thanks Tom! I let her know and she’s sorting it out. Very much appreciate the heads up.

  4. It worked fine for me at home in IE, but at work it takes forever to load and both sidebars drop to the bottom of the page.

I have to admit to preferring the old version, too. I think it’s because I’m old; the blue on blue on green just doesn’t have enough contrast for my tired eyes to read easily. 🙂

  5. Hmm, it does the same thing in IE at work for me, too. That’s kind of freaky… works fine in IE at home. Will have to investigate…. thanks for mentioning it!

I forget some people still have to use IE.

  6. whoa! nice.. for a moment though I had to double check I’d gone to the right webite *hehe* Quite a change.

  7. I love it! I find the layout is less cluttered than the old site and I really like the banner art (although I really like the previous one too). I’m viewing it in Firefox at home and not having any trouble. Haven’t tried it at work though in IE.

  8. Looks good here. I like it! 🙂

The background pattern starts to repeat a bit before the end of the main content box, but that’s a nitpicky little thing that doesn’t affect viewability at all. And I’m using Safari on my Mac.

  9. Thanks for the kind words, all. 🙂 I’m really happy with the way it turned out, after I finally beat it into submission, LOL.

@ Tom: Thanks for the heads-up…looking into it! Just when I get the hang of Firefox / IE intercompatibility, along comes another browser to consider. 😉

@ Gwyn: Pete alerted me to the IE6 rendering issues, and I believe it’s as “fixed” as it’s going to get, hehe. There are some issues with some widget content being a little too wide, but not much I can do about that at the moment. At least the sidebars are correctly placed now. 🙂

@ Inannaqhe: I enjoyed making the previous banner to match a theme Pete was already using, and I was tickled with that one as well. He decided to make a change, though, and I was up to the challenge — plus he made a pouty face, and who can resist that?

@ Jem: Thanks! Pesky ampersands in third-party JavaScripts caused most of the errors…HTML entities FTW! Should be validating fully (or nearly so) now.
