Last night I listened to a song a friend had made. It was pretty short, but nice. Kind of a new-age/blues fusion. When it was over, I asked if I could have a copy and congratulated my friend on a job well done.
My friend is 8.
She was using GarageBand, the music-making software from Apple. I didn’t get a chance to play with the application (yet!) but I was just thrilled at the possibility that a little girl could make such a nice song.
Then her mom played me the song she’d made, and it was great! Now granted, her mom spent a good portion of her life as a professional musician so I’d expect great things of her.
Anyway, Garageband comes as part of the iLife program, which costs a whopping $49. Suffice to say that I’m ordering a copy today. 🙂
Wow, very cool! Makes me wish I had an Apple next to my PC instead of another PC. 🙂
